My name is Maria. Forget about the surname; it is Greek and nobody can pronounce it, most probably neither can you.
I moved to New York City in May 2012, where I live with my husband. Before moving here, I traveled twice to New York; once in December 2011 and once in May 2012 when I found a job. Speaking of that, I am a Software Tester so that’s where ‘Testing NYC’ is coming from. I am used to testing code, so why not new places as well? After listening to “Congratulations, you got the job” (I could not be happier and more stressed at the same time!), everything was in fast-forward mode. I had only one week to go back to Athens, quit my job there, hand over my projects to someone else, pack all my things, throw a farewell party, come back to New York City and start my new life.
Since I am here, I keep discovering new things. I am not sure I am able to describe with words how great this city is. But, that is what I am trying to do with this website: present you the New York City I love, share all the things I’ve discovered and try to express my feelings for the greatest city of the world.
If you just moved here, if you are a tourist, if you visit the City often, of if you plan to visit just once (really? just once?), or if you simply are one of the thousands who love New York City, you may find this website helpful.
So… Welcome to New York City, the NYC we love!
