Last month we went to Puerto Rico to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday. On our flight back, we got the chance to land at Newark instead of JFK.
I say this every time, when I’m asked. It is so much better to land at Newark comparing to JFK. Both are far from Manhattan, for both the possibility to be stuck in the traffic is more than high, taxi cabs will charge pretty much the same either from JFK or Newark. But the views are amazing when you go to Newark! You fly above the Hudson River all the way down and you get to see pretty much everything; Manhattan, the skyline, New Jersey, even the Statue of Liberty!!
I took these shots from the plane. Click on the pictures for a bigger view.
You can see the skyline from Midtown to Downtown. If I am not wrong, Empire State Building can be seen on the left side and the new WTC on the right. Can you see the Statue of Liberty?
Across the WTC, it shall be Jersey City, but I was never good recognizing places from the airplane. Whoever is better than me, please leave a comment and I will add the info.
You can see Empire State Building and WTC clearer now.
