Even if you are in New York City for a day, for a week, for a couple of weeks, or if you live here now, you can’t leave without having visited a Rooftop Bar, especially this Rooftop Bar.
Located at the corner of 11th Ave. and W 48th St.,at the top of Ink48 Hotel, it offers a panoramic view of Manhattan on the one side and of the Hudson River on the other side. It is absolutely stunning.
The Press Lounge also has a beautiful space inside, in case the weather does not permit staying outside. I’ve been there on rainy days and on gorgeous weather and it’s very nice, always.
Even if you are travelling on a budget, you should make your plans from the beginning in order to make a stop for a drink at this bar. Not only won’t you regret it, but I bet you will remember this place for a long time and you will shot at least 5 pictures there!
Best way to get there: take a cab. The subway doesn’t reach this very west side of Manhattan. If you still want to take the train, the closest stop is 50th St. (C,E trains) but you still need to walk 5 blocks and the area there is kind of ’empty’ and dark. Don’t be scared though, I don’t think it’s dangerous, it’s just feels strange if you walk alone.
Believe me: It’s the best.
Tip: Have your ID with you. There is no chance they will let you in without presenting an ID!
